We missed seeing your faces! And we can't miss seeing them again...

We missed seeing your faces! And we can't miss seeing them again...

On June 9th, Good For Her opened its doors once again — and it’s been an absolute whirlwind ever since! But before that magical reopening, there were two full weeks where I (Rosalie) had the joy of working with the incredible team at Three Dollar Bill to bring this vision to life.

For those who don’t know, Three Dollar Bill is a queer bar and community hub in the heart of Parkdale, downtown Toronto. In their ongoing mission to uplift the community, they dreamed up a pop-up space where small businesses and artists could connect directly with their people — and we were VERY honoured when they asked if we wanted to be their first tenant! So we got to work bringing our vision to life and we have to be honest when we say we are pretty damn proud of the finished product - which greatly exceeded the expectations from our original vision.

I can’t even begin to express how thrilling and uplifting it has been to reconnect with this community face-to-face. Seeing familiar faces walk in and light up when they realize we’re back has been everything. And the new faces — curious neighbours peeking in with a smile and a promise to return — have made it feel like home all over again.

June was a beautiful kind of chaos as we made the transition from selling online only to in-person once again (and of course there was Pride, which meant 11-13 hour days! But all of our queer community was so excited to see us that the energy truly charged our battery) but now, it's time to move ahead with eyes wide open and hearts chock full.

With our tenancy at Three Dollar Bill ending on August 31st, we grabbed the opportunity to make use of the Monday and Tuesday nights they are closed to the public to bring back what might be our customer's favourite Good For Her offering...Workshops! In a continued effort to make things as accessible as possible we will be hosting these nights as a hybrid application of both in-person and virtual. Our first one is a primer for couples/singles interested in exploring ethical non-monogamy and you can find the details and tickets here. The next offerings will be announced very soon so keep an eye on your inbox and social media!

But our plans for after our tenancy ends at Three Dollar Bill? Well, we want a full-time, year-round, home. We all know how expensive just simply existing in Toronto is, and that includes existing as a small business. First and last month's rent, design and setup of the space, plus all the startup operating costs makes this summer a crucial time for Good For Her. So if there was ever a time to support us, it's now!

I will speak personally here, as Rosalie, the new owner of Good For Her, when I say that there is no way I will not let this business keep serving our community. I have heard so many stories, shared so many tears both happy and sad, had so many laughs, and learned so much when I have had the honour of speaking with you all in person. Being where I am is a dream come true, but even more than that, a dream that ended up being more amazing than anything I worked so hard to try and manifest. I've seen what GFH means to so many of you, but most of all, I see how GFH is still so needed.

So in the months to come, please consider supporting us! Our pop-up has the essentials and best sellers, a little bit of something for everyone, but please feel free to get in touch if you'd like us to special order something else for you.

With lots of love and gratitude,

Team GFH/Rosalie
